About Persian Turkmen Rug: This beautiful rug was hand knotted by the Turkmen tribes live in the north-east of Iran. Turkmen rug is produced by obtaining materials, wool from the herds and vegetable dyes, using geometrical designs that varied from tribe to tribe. Turkmen rugs are known for the deep rich red/blue color sourced from the madder root, and designs are all-over motifs, often the octagonal "Elephants Foot". The KPSI count normally ranges between 20 and 120.
All vintage & antique rugs that we are selling were produced years ago with love by nomads and are treasures of the past. They have been professionally washed, cleaned and restored. Due to the vintage/antique nature of our rugs, there may be imperfections and signs of wear which rather enhance the feel and beauty of these rugs.
