Founded in Christchurch in 2019, Nile Rugs is built on generations of family heritage in the rug trade. Our founders grew up in Pakistan surrounded by the artistry, tradition, and craftsmanship of handmade rugs — a craft that has been practiced in the region for centuries.
From an early age, they witnessed the intricate process behind every rug: the design drawing, the hand knotting, the careful edging, the washing, and the final finishing. These traditions shaped the vision behind Nile Rugs — to make genuine handmade rugs accessible to customers in New Zealand.
