About Persian Lilian Rug: Lilian rugs come from the north-western part of Iran. They are hand knotted by Armenians. That is why they are often called Armeni baff-Lilian. Their knotting is like the one of Hamadan Carpets. No wonder because Lilian belongs to the region of Hamadan. Most of the Lilian are smaller carpets. Lilian rugs are characterized by their big blossom medallion in the midfield. Sometimes you can find all known Herati pattern. Lilian are knotted dark red, symmetrical. Blue is the constant companion, so that you can surely call it a traditional Persian colouring.
All vintage & antique rugs that we are selling were produced years ago with love by nomads and are treasures of the past. They have been professionally washed, cleaned and restored. Due to the vintage/antique nature of our rugs, there may be imperfections and signs of wear which rather enhance the feel and beauty of these rugs.
