Khal Mohammadi Afghan Rug – Crimson Compass

This hand-knotted Khal Mohammadi Afghan rug was traditionally woven and selected for its pure wool pile and natural dyes, distinctive pattern character and handmade construction. Its wool texture and detailed design give the piece a strong decorative presence while preserving the traditional character associated with this rug style.

The design features a balanced geometric composition with compass-like central motifs and repeating guls, using crimson and burgundy with black, navy and ivory accents. With its 100 x 143 cm size, this piece works well in entrances, bedside areas, reading corners or smaller rooms, where its pattern and colour can become a strong decorative feature.

Khal Mohammadi-style rugs are known for rich red palettes, repeating geometric motifs and strong symmetrical layouts. The handmade wool construction gives it practical durability while preserving the distinctive character of the design.
